Are animated videos suitable for my business?

marketing-campaign-animated-video-usage
"Are animated videos suitable for my business?” is perhaps one of the most common questions that we get from our potential clients."

Some businesses are often skeptical about using animated videos as part of their marketing campaign because:

  • They are afraid that it will look too cartoon-ish or childish.
  • They won’t be able to show how their product, service or process works accurately and realistically.
  • They think that this type of videos don’t look professional.

Fortunately, viewers’ perspectives have changed tremendously nowadays, particularly with the growth of digital and video marketing, we’re more open in the way we process information and the way we think. We’re always looking for something new and out-of-the-box to watch.

Animation can certainly be used for every single industry or business

First of all, animation comes in a wide variety of styles, be it 2D or 3D animation, stop motion, whiteboard animation, motion graphics and the list goes on. With animation, we can explore many possibilities and portray different scenarios that we can’t achieve easily with live action videos.

Whether you have a product to introduce, or you would like to talk about a service, or you have a business idea to propose, we can bring your message to life easily using a short, simple and easy-to-understand animated video.

Animated Video for Industrial System Manufacturer

One of the perfect examples is the explainer video we created for Astro-Med, a company that develops and manufactures a broad range of specialty printers and data acquisition systems.

The product that they wanted to introduce using an animated video is called Daxus – a data acquisition device that helps plant engineers, electrical engineers, quality control managers, researchers, maintenance technicians to ensure that their products are doing their jobs, measure and record power failure, find interruptions within their manufacturing process and many more. Sounds complicated?

When it comes to industrial products, most companies would opt for an actual product shoot or 3D product animation that carries no meaning. Our client wanted to tell their story, and they wanted to do it in an unconventional and much more interesting way.

So, we created a cool yet more realistic character style that represents Astro-Med, and in order to bring their story to life, we used a combination of 2.5D animation and 3D objects that shows what Daxus is all about in a simple and easy-to-understand way.

3D Animated Video for Industrial Equipment and Supplies Distributor

Here’s another example. Global Industrial is a leading distributor in private label and brand name industrial equipment and supplies to businesses throughout North America.

The team at Global Industrial wanted to create a brand video by utilizing the products they offer and their company taglines. So we opted for a 3D animated video that showcased the products and the services provided by the team. 3D animated videos generally cost higher than 2D or 2.5D animated videos and require longer production time.

Virality & Success

The video has garnered over 200,000 views since it was first shared on Youtube within 2 months. It has been watched over 750,000 times until today.

Our client, AdMaster, a leading marketing data technology company in China, wanted to create an out-of-the-box and unconventional corporate video which tells the story of who they are and what they do. Comprising of a young and dynamic team, they wanted the video to reflect who they are exactly. Hence we opted for a set of young, colorful and cool characters to represent the team. The video consists of a mixture of 2.5D animation and motion graphics.
