The Objective
Yinson began as a small transport agency in Johor Bahru, Malaysia. Then it grew into a global energy infrastructure company with businesses in offshore production, renewable energy and green technologies.
Today, the Group is listed on the Main Market of Bursa Malaysia and reported RM5.4 billion in revenue for FY2026. Yinson Production also has a USD19.5 billion contract backlog until 2050, including options.
We worked with Yinson on a series of enterprise animations to cover the Group and different parts of its business. The first film needed to create the bigger picture before the other videos explored individual subjects in greater detail.
The Project
The main film introduces Yinson’s journey and takes Yinson Production, Yinson Renewables and Yinson GreenTech into one connected story.
From there, each subsequent video look into different businesses, technologies and initiatives that form the Group. And each video has its own focus and they all needed to feel like part of the same visual world.
Creative Direction
We developed a bright 2D and 2.5D visual language that could be used in multiple videos. A unique illustration style for the entire series.
Each part of the business has its own environment and colour themes. Yinson Production uses warmer yellows and deep purples, Yinson Renewables moves into blues and cyan. And Yinson GreenTech introduces brighter green accents.

Our team made the character design, elements and illustration style consistent throughout the series in order to give every video a familiar Yinson identity.

Creating Depth in 2D
Although the artwork is mainly illustrative, we wanted the environments to feel spacious and active.
Layered scenes, perspective, parallax and camera movement add depth without moving into full 3D. This allowed us to move through industrial facilities, renewable landscapes, homes and future-facing cities while keeping the animation light and approachable.
Expanding the Story
The visual system gave us room to change the setting without starting again for every video.
Some stories required detailed industrial environments, while others moved into renewable energy, electric mobility and everyday life. Colours, locations and supporting elements could shift with the subject, while the characters, motion and overall art direction kept the series connected.
This balance became one of the most interesting parts of the project: creating enough variety for each video to stand on its own while making sure they all belonged to the same Yinson story.
The Result
The goals of the video were fully met through the power of animation. Instead of a couple of boring corporate videos, Yinson now has a unique communication style through animation which can be utilized in upcoming videos about their ever-growing business.
Together, the videos form a wider visual story about Yinson’s journey and the areas of energy infrastructure in which it operates.
